There’s no doubt you’ve heard about the massive humanitarian crisis in India; ABC News calling it the “Horror in India”. With broken infrastructure, a strained health care system, and a massive, crowded population of 1.39 billion people, COVID is spreading at a staggering rate setting global records. According to the BBC, 1 person is dying every 4 minutes in the city of Delhi with many more deaths underreported.
In the remote villages that Harvest India serves, there is no access to modern medical care. Thousands of people are dying every day – many collapsing trying to get help in the brutal 110-degree heat. Many more are starving without access to food or clean water during strict lockdowns.
Dr. Suresh Kumar, President of Harvest India shared, “there is a critical need for medical supplies, medicines, sanitizers, supplements, vitamins, protective equipment, family support and food relief."
Please join us in meeting the most urgent needs during this devastating time for our friends in India.
